At the annual general meeting on May 13, 2024, in Rapperswil-Jona, the shareholders of Sensirion Holding AG were informed about the results of the Sensirion group for the financial year 2023, which were impacted by declining sales due to weaker end customer demand as well as ongoing inventory reductions. The shareholders approved all proposals of the Board of Directors.

Sensirion’s gas meter modules are based on the principle of thermal-mass measurement. Since autumn 2023, the modules for residential gas meters have met the strict criteria of the new harmonized standard EN 17526. Sensirion’s modules for commercial and industrial gas meters SGM6316 and SGM6325, respectively covering the G10/G16 and G25 flow ranges, are now also certified. 

Weak demand from end consumers, combined with ongoing inventory reduction and the removal of last year’s one-off business, resulted in sales declining by 27.5% compared to the previous year. 
This decline is solely attributable to reduced demand volume; no customers or ongoing projects were lost. The medium- and long-term outlook remains positive. Sensirion thus continued to expand its R&D capacities to enable important product launches in new applications in 2024 and 2025. Consolidated sales amounted to CHF 233.2 million. The gross margin decreased to 52.2%, and the EBITDA margin was 4.3%.
 

Sensirion, a leading manufacturer of digital microsensors and systems, announced today that it will expand its production site in Debrecen, Hungary, by 5,000 m². The first phase of the expansion is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2024 and the second phase by the first quarter of 2025 and will significantly increase Sensirion's production capacity for sensor modules. The expansion will be built and financed by a local build-to-suit partner. Sensirion has entered into a long-term lease agreement.
