Sensirion looks back on a special first half of 2020 which was marked by three major factors:

We are proud to announce that TDK is using our humidity and temperature sensor SHTC3 in its smart multi-sensor wireless module “SmartBug™”. The module has been designed for IoT applications and enables quick and easy access to reliable and smart sensor data.

We proudly announce, that our particulate matter sensor is used in the PM2.5 Particulate Matter Analyzer from ELV Elektronik AG. It provides highly accurate measurements of particulate matter pollution down to a particle size of PM1.0.

Due to positive business trends and the increasing demand for its existing and new sensors, Sensirion is expanding its production capabilities by establishing a production site in Debrecen, Hungary.

A total of 7% of all newborns and up to 30% of all premature babies suffer from respiratory distress syndrome (RDS). If newborns are not professionally treated immediately after birth, the mortality rate is almost 100%.

Sensirion raises its outlook for the financial year 2020. Despite continuing low visibility for the second half of the year, the company expects revenue for the full year of CHF 200-240 million due to the positive business trend in the first half of the year.

There is strong scientific evidence that a mid-range air humidity has significant benefits for human health. Thus, the time has come for regulations on indoor air quality to include a humidity level of 40-60%RH.

The sensor network for recording the regional microclimate is largely installed and has been in operation since April 2020. It forms an important part of the "Smart Climate - Plug & Sense" project led by the association Smart Regio Basel.

At the Annual General Meeting of Sensirion Holding AG on 11 May 2020, the independent proxy represented a total of 9’200’764 shares corresponding to 59.09% of the share capital. The shareholders approved all proposals of the Board of Directors (the “Board”).

Sensirion has entered into a cooperation with Alps Alpine in the field of humidity and temperature sensing. Thanks to this cooperation, customers will benefit from both companies’ individual strengths in the sensor and module business..
