We were very lucky with the weather – it was fantastic all week. The days always started at 7 a.m. with breakfast. At 7:50 a.m. we all gathered outside and divided into four groups, each with a team leader. Each group had different tasks, such as building a bridge over a creek or felling trees. After the split we drove as far as possible into the terrain by car, then we continued on foot. The paths were exhausting, but the view and the time together put everything into perspective. We always took our lunch with us and ate it outside with our group.
After a hard day at work, there was delicious food and dessert. And we all played group games and board games organized by different apprentices. The evening games were always very funny and provided a lot of fun and good mood.
Each day the groups were changed for morning work, so that you always had a different group leader and could do different tasks. A special highlight was the barefoot hike on Thursday afternoon, which led us along a stream. On Friday, we tidied up the whole house and cleaned the tools before taking the train back to Zurich.
After this great week, we grew even closer together as a team and gained a lot of valuable experience. It was a great time full of exciting experiences!
