Typically, sensor or device certificates are sent by the respective calibration laboratory or manufacturer to their direct end customers in single documents. With the introduction of our certified sensors, this mode has not changed for the most part, which requires high manual effort and harms the scalability of certificate distribution solutions.Therefore, we aim at a technology open development of a new certificate distribution platform with API compatibility and low barrier to entry for all customer types with focus on fully automated certificate distribution and extreme scalability.We decided to conduct the SensNFT Proof-of-Concept to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of a blockchain-based approach with NFTs.
