What motivates you to do your best every day?
Being close to our products and being able to lead the product through the entire development cycle is very motivating for me. Working with motivated colleagues who are happy to lend a hand is also very important to me; for me, they’re at the heart of Sensirion.
What does a normal work day look like for you?
That’s not an easy question. Especially in the early phases of product development, some mental flexibility, curiosity, creativity and often tenacity and a high tolerance for frustration, too, are required. Prototyping mainly takes place in the laboratory. Later, we concentrate more on the concrete problems of practical implementation in production. Since the problems in every phase are very multidisciplinary, there is a lot to coordinate and harmonize. I find this process of identifying solutions extremely exciting and challenging. Finally, there are also times when we can have fun, which makes everyday life very pleasant on an interpersonal level as well.
What do you think makes Sensirion a special employer?
The open, collaborative and personal work atmosphere is deeply embedded in the company culture. Our company values don’t just sound good – we really live them out as well. This gives me the support to choose an unconventional approach sometimes and to go against others if necessary. At the professional level, there are many exciting challenges in all areas – this is reflected, among other things, in the passion we show in our work.
