Our Solution

Nubo Sphere is a modular end-to-end solution, consisting of two slots for factory-calibrated sensing cartridges. Besides the most reliable methane measurements the Nubo Sphere's sensing cartridge gives you access to highly accurate climate data such as temperature, humidity, barometric pressure as well as wind speed and direction. The system follows the concept of plug and play: Mount your Nubo Sphere nodes on-site using existing infrastructure and start measuring within minutes. Due to the worldwide LTE coverage and data caching, data can conveniently be accessed and downloaded via a web-based dashboard or integrated into your system via the API.

Methane Leaks

Methane concentrations in the atmosphere have increased by more than 150% since 1750 and those emissions are considered a major contributor to global warming (IGU, 2021). In the U.S. alone, around 13 million tons methane are being released into the air each year - enough to heat ten million homes for a year (EDF, n.d.). The emission of CH4 is harmful to public health indirectly through ozone creation, an air pollutant, as well as directly to onsite workers by causing explosions and fires that result in casualties, environmental damage, and loss of materials.

Studies show that only about 40% of the methane in the atmosphere comes from natural sources such as volcanoes or permafrost soils, the remaining percentage is caused by human activities and can respectively should therefore be reduced.
